Hawaiian dance

Hawaiian dance, also known as hula, is a tradition transmitted from generation to generation, which dates back to the Matriarchal Period.
In Hawaii, it is not only a dance, but a lifestyle, based on an ancient religion of its people, with chants and rhythm variations, rich in natural accessories, completely based on a mythology full of legends, prayers and love towards Mother-Nature.
It is a devotional dance, which turned into a performance only after foreign occupation of Hawaii.
Each movement reminds of a natural element, from a mountain to the waves of the sea, of feelings like love and emotions as human wrath. Therefore, for Hawaiian people, this dance is a reflection of life.

Nowadays, in its performance version, is assumes a modern, stylized content, a version which is frequently employed in hotels and for tourist reception in Hawaii.
